A present from Luke!

Last night, as I was trying to get the house back in order after being gone for two weeks, Luke was helping Brian pull the GINORMOUS weeds in the front yard. I heard the doorbell ring and this is what I saw.....notice the gloves.....and then he insisted that I put it in my hair and wear it for the rest of the night.....which I did...of course!!!!!!!

We did it!!!!

5:30 in the a.m.
After the race! I don't know what the flexing is all about. I guess I was just proud of having a number on my arm and to know I did it!
Do you think Brian's bike looks about 3 minutes faster than mine? I do!!!!!

I think the triathlon experience was one of the best things I have ever done! The fact that Brian and I were together was so great...I can't even describe it. It was one of those things that just brings you closer as a couple. OK, they numbered us according to how fast our swim time was on the application. Brian started about 50 people behind me. So, I started pretty strong on the swim, I thought, and then I ran to the bike, rinsed off my feet, and headed out for the ride. As I suspected, the bike was the toughest part for me. People were just flying by on their 'road bikes'. I might as well have had a basket and a bell on mine....ok, it wasn't quite that bad, but if I plan on keeping this up, I will need to invest in a better bike. Anyway, just as I put my bike back on the rack and pinned on my number, Brian came in. I hurried off on my run, but was very winded! Just as I rounded the turn for home, with about 1.5 miles to go, Brian caught up with me. At first I though....."aaarrrrggghhhh, he caught up with me". But, finishing the rest of the way with him was absolutely the best way it could have ended. Remember, my original goal was 1.5 hours. We crossed the finish line at 1.27 hours. I was so excited. Then Brian reminded me that that was the start time for everybody. The clock that didn't stop. We all had to be spaced out to start the swim.....anyway, my official time with my ankle bracelet ended up being 1.19. YEAH!!!!!!!!! Brian's was 1.16! I couldn't be happier with that time for our first one! There will definitely be more triathlons in our future!!!!!!!

Happy birthday Ashlyn!

Happy Birthday to my new little niece, Ashlyn Grace Compton. My brother, Stuart and his sweet wife Kristy had their fourth precious baby this morning at about 8:30. I don't have any pictures yet, but hopefully I will soon. Thankfully, mommy and baby are doing great!!! Congratulations guys!!!!!!

...and the countdown continues!!!

I would be able to be so much more excited about this.......

if I didn't get a pit in my stomach every time I thought about this!!!!
It's a good pit, though....if there is such a thing!!!!

Well, there are only four more days left! I just have enough time to clean the car, do the laundry, clean the house, weed the flower beds, water the lawn, pack and clean the house. Oh, I forgot one thing.....a whole lot of cardio!!!!! We go up on Friday for registration and the triathlon starts on Saturday at 7:00 in the a.m. Then, it will all be over in an hour and a half...or at least that is my goal. I will not be sad, however, if it takes a little longer than that because I will definitely try my hardest and that is all I can do. After the race, we will hopefully find somewhere to take a shower, drive back home to pick up the kids, and then head to the beach for vacation, where we will meet the rest of the family. Yea!!! I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!
