It's that time again

Yes, it is that time again. That exciting time that so many of us have looked forward to for so long. We wait patiently as that circled day on the calendar draws closer, and can only imagine how it is going to turn out. People come from miles around. We get that nervous knot in our stomachs and try to remember that it is not that important and that we won't cry if things don't work out the way we want them to. You have probably guessed by now, that I am talking about.....the kid's consignment sale!!! I guess you wouldn't understand if you aren't a mom. Getting good deals is a big deal!! I guess "that time again" could also mean one more thing..... waaaaaaarrrrrrr eagle!!!

Movie Review

Not that any of you will get a chance to see this one, because no clean movie lasts very long at the theater, but Becoming Jane was a pretty good movie. I can't help but compare this movie to the fantastic, glorious, and beautiful tearjerker, Pride and Prejudice. Not to say that anyone else would cry...it is not a sad movie... it is just so touching... Alright, I am just a silly girl!! Anyway, comparing is hard to do because there is really no comparison. I always love a good English movie, but there is just something about Pride and Prejudice. The characters are just so well-spoken, and proper, and innocent, and respectful. It was nice to get a little insight into the author's life though. Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like.....

A few nights out!

Saturday night, Alli, Brandon, Brian and I got babysitters and had a double date. We had a great time! We went to see the Bourne Ultimatum. If you haven't gotten a chance to see it, go see it!!! It is soooo good! Then we went to get some dessert. We laughed and laughed. I am so funny. Just kidding, they crack me up. It is so nice to have a night out that doesn't include kids' meals, kids' arguments, and kids' messes. Don't get me wrong, I love spending time with my kids, but it is so nice, just once in a while, to be a "couple". I am so thankful to live so close to Alli. There is just something about spending time with your sister. I love you, Alli! Brian and I had a great time!!
Then, after my LONG day of work on Monday, Brian was so sweet to keep the kids while I had girls' night with some friends from church. We had a great time and stayed out until midnight playing cards. I just can't resist a good card game. If the cards are being dealt, I am in!!! Also, my friend Shannon and I are going to see Becoming Jane on Thursday night. I just love the English movies!! Thanks for my nights out Brian. I love you!!

James' new interest

James has found a way to combine his two favorite things, Star Wars and Lego's. He built these three ships for his clones the other night. I have to say, I am pretty impressed. He is quite the little builder. It is funny though, before he became obsessed with Star Wars, his interest in practically everything was seeing how it could relate to football. So, before SW, his Lego building was not quite so impressive. It only consisted of the green ones being the field, the blue ones were the goal posts and the other ones, of course, were the the opposing football teams. It was cute, but this requires quite a bit more skill. My little boy is growing up!!
School is going great so far! We are so blessed. They are excited today because Fridays are arts and crafts day. We are planning on painting today. We better get going!!
We have BIG, BIG plans tonight! Yes, it is the premier of HSM2. If you don't know what that means then you are missing out. We are having a youth girls party to watch the movie. That will be a good time I am sure!!! No, what I am really excited about is the long awaited installation of my crown moulding. It is SUPPOSE to be going up this afternoon. I can hardly wait. I am already counting down the hours. I am crazy, I know.

Anna's new "do"

Before
After
Anna told me that she wanted her hair shorter, so I got my scissors out and went to town. I was almost sorry I did it at first. When I saw all 9 inches of her beautiful hair laying on the floor, I had to catch my breath, but now I totally love it! This short "do" makes me feel like Anna is back. It just seems more her personality. It is so precious!

"Watch This"

Well, as most of you know, I am homeschooling James and Anna. It went great last year and we are excited about this year. We are starting tomorrow. I am not quite sure how Luke is going to factor into it this year, but last year he was really involved. He just loved to rip their papers from in front of them, throw them on the ground and run out of the room laughing. He is not the kind of child that will play by himself. He likes to have every one's attention. I think that he thinks he was put on this earth to make people laugh. His first phrase and still his favorite one is, "Watch This". He really is funny!! Hopefully, this year, I will be able to figure out a way to keep him occupied for a little while while James and Anna do school.

Project, "pain in my behind" update!!

Well, if you look back at the "before" picture, you can tell a little difference. This is not necessarily an "after" picture, but it is progress. Of course, the mantle is still in my bedroom and we decided to wait on the hardwood floor for now, but things are slowly coming along. I painted the new crown moulding Monday and talked to our contractor friend last night so we are getting closer to actually getting the moulding put up!!! The color that you see was suppose to be for an accent wall, but I liked it so much that I put it on all of the walls and up the stairs and in the upstairs hallway. Of course, I have only actually painted this room so far, but I have big plans for the next few days!!! The only problem is that I am pretty sure the color clashes with the pretty newly painted foyer. Oh well, I think that sounds like a new project!!
