"Short, Easy Hike"

We went to Oak Mt. State Park in Hoover, AL. It was beautiful. We had a great time doing family things. It was really nice to just spend time together, without the TV being involved. We had a great time!!!
Here are James and Anna on our "short hike" to Peavine Falls. We were told it was about 3/10 of a mile and it was an easy hike. I think James is questioning that here!! We ended up hiking for about and hour and a half!!! We found out, after we had started the hike, that there was more than one trail. We were on the white trail and we were supposed to merge onto the blue trail. We only found that out after we had turned around and followed the trail back out. We did find the falls on our way back. We had gone at least a mile out of the way. It was a good thing we turned around because we saw a map of the white trail after we were back on safe ground. It turns out that the white trail was a 10 mile trail. Anyway, one and a half hours, half of a bottle of Off, and about 2 gallons of sweat later, we finished the "short hike". I have to say, the kids were great. They never complained!! Of course Luke didn't, because Brian had to carry him the whole time!
Here is Luke after crawling under this log which was on our trail on our "easy hike".

Here is everyone feeding the ducks with goldfish. Are ducks suppose to like goldfish? Well, they did.

It looks like you had so much fun! I love the expression on Luke's face in the picture of him after he crawled under the log. We miss you guys and can't wait to see you at Thanksgiving.
